He won't be guesting on any of their tracks though *SIGH*

Not even One Direction are immune to the smooth talking charms of Ed Sheeran's music and after all that talk about the tracks he's written for their new album Take Me Home, it looks like we'll finally get to hear one in the form of second single Little Things.

As well as revealing that he's working on a brand new side project that will be kicking off next year, Ed has let slip that the new 1D track is, in fact, one of his musical babies.

"I wrote the next One Direction single, Little Things," he told SB.TV. "That's coming out soon I think."

Although we can generally be relied upon to point out the blinking obvious, we've often thought just how amazing it would be if Ed lent his vocals to 1D and guested on one of their tracks, bearing in mind they're such good pals and all.

But apparently it won't be happening any time soon and it sounds like the track itself will be a bit of a blast from the past for Eduardo.

"I wrote that around four years ago and they asked for it so they got it.. but yeah no featuring," he added.

So does this make the track about 1D's Little Things or Ed's? What are these mysterious Little Things anyway?

Either way, WE CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR IT.

Sorry for the shouting, but there's a lot of emotion going on right now.

How are your ovaries feeling after all that?
